My dc sports (ceramic) header cracked at the weld...it has been over two years thus no warranty. Is it possible to weld it back together? Has anyone done this before?

    Question

Are ceramic coated headers more likely to crack then stainless steel versions?
I'm thinking about getting DC 4-1 cc-header for my 96 integra rs.

My header cracked on the top at the welding..I can see exhaust gas coming out (black carbon stuffs around the crack)...I'm thinking just weld it back up for a few bucks...should last a while until I can afford a new one biggrin

BTW, did you get your turbo in yet? We are dynoing our car this Sat.

All you need to do is: grind the ceramic layer off the joint with an angle grinder and then make a little weld there. If you're near Atlanta I'll do it for free. Find someone with a welder. Its a 5 minute job. And since you can do this over and over wherever cracks may form... and since it'll be as good as NEW, there is no reason to get a new one.
